Volta Hair Space is located in the street-facing commercial unit on the ground level of 105 Champagne Avenue South, one block west of Preston Street, between Beech Street and Carling Avenue.
There are a limited number of 2-hour street parking spots nearby. For longer visits, paid parking is available at the Dow’s Lake Pavilion parking lot, located on Champagne Avenue at Carling.
We’re easily accessible by transit:
4-minute walk from Dow’s Lake LRT Station (Line 2)
85 bus stops at Dow’s Lake (approximately a 5-minute walk)
The Trillium Multi-Use Pathway runs between Preston and Champagne, with access points at Beech Street or near Soho Champagne

We are a time-based salon, meaning services are billed based on the time and expertise required rather than gender or service labels. This allows us to fully customize each appointment to your hair goals, lifestyle, and budget.
Chemical and treatment services include an additional materials cost, which will be discussed during your consultation so there are no surprises.
We also operate under a living-income model. Our pricing reflects fair compensation for our stylists, allowing them to focus on quality, creativity, and your experience—without double or triple booking or reliance on tips to make a living. This approach supports sustainability, balance, and exceptional service.

We do not book appointments through social media messages.
Existing clients: We recommend pre-booking at your appointment to secure your preferred time slots.
New clients: An intake form is required prior to your first visit.
Online booking allows new clients to book a first-time haircut (1.5-hour appointment). All chemical services require a consultation before booking.

We understand that delays happen. If you’re running late, please call us as soon as possible and leave a voicemail if we don’t answer.
We’ll do our best to accommodate your appointment within the remaining time, though services may need to be adjusted. Please refer to our policies for full details.

Gratuities are certainly not required. Our pricing is designed to ensure stylists earn a fair, living income without relying on tips.
Your support means so much in other ways, such as referrals, reviews, or sharing your fresh look on social media and tagging your stylist.

At Volta Hair Space, we want every visit to feel comfortable and collaborative. To provide the best results, we require a consultation before your first appointment for all services except haircuts. Your stylist will discuss your goals, assess your hair, and outline a plan to achieve your desired look. We love it when clients bring inspiration photos, but please remember that results may vary based on your hair’s individual characteristics.

For services lasting 3 hours or longer, a non-refundable $80 deposit is required. This deposit will be applied toward your total bill at checkout. Other services (such as extensions or bridal styling) may have unique deposit requirements, which will be discussed during your consultation.

We understand that life happens! However, to respect our stylists’ time, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes.
Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% of the booked service will be charged.
No-shows: 100% of the service will be charged. If you contact us outside business hours but before the 24-hour mark, we will not enforce the fee, as we can see when your message was sent. This policy helps protect our team and ensures fair scheduling for all clients.

We understand delays can happen! If you expect to be late, please call or email us as soon as possible so your stylist can adjust accordingly. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, we may not be able to complete your full service due to scheduling constraints. We’ll communicate any necessary adjustments to your appointment on a case-by-case basis. If your stylist is running behind, we’ll notify you promptly. Should our delay not work for your schedule, we’ll happily reschedule your appointment without applying any late-change fees. We appreciate your understanding.

At Volta Hair Space, we’re committed to providing exceptional service through thorough consultations and high-quality results. If you have any concerns about your service, please contact us within 7 days of your appointment. We’re happy to offer a complimentary adjustment for minor changes — such as a toner shift or haircut refinement. If you choose to alter your look beyond what was originally discussed during your appointment, a service charge will apply.

We have zero tolerance for sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or hateful conduct of any kind. This includes inappropriate language, jokes, gestures, intimidation, or behaviour directed toward our staff or other guests.
Discrimination or harassment is not welcome in our space under any circumstance.
Any individual who behaves in a way that is disrespectful, discriminatory, aggressive, or otherwise inappropriate will be asked to leave immediately. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
